Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups rice
- 2 Qt whole milk
- 1 tsp salt
- 5 Cups water
- 4 Strips lemon zest
- 1/2 Stick margarine
- 2 Cups sugar
- 4 eggs yolks
Directions
- Stir continuously anytime heat is being applied.
- Bring water, salt, lemon, and margarine to a boil.
- Add rice, cook 20 minutes.
- During the 20 minutes add milk one cup at a time.
- Add sugar and let boil a few minutes longer.
- Turn off heat.
- Mix egg yolks with a little milk.
- Add to rice and stir well.
- Turn on heat, bring to a boil.
- Once boiling, remove from heat.
- Pour in cups and let cool.
